We’re proud to be part of the creative journey behind the official uniforms for the Portugal Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 Portugal Expo 2025.

Inspired by the Cryptomeria japonica, a tree native to both Japan and the Azores, the MODAPORTUGAL uniforms embody a symbolic connection between two cultures with centuries of shared history.

The visual identity of the garments is rooted in Yakisugi, a traditional Japanese wood-burning technique that symbolizes strength, transformation, and authenticity, reflected in the unique prints developed for this collection.

From yarn to prototype, every detail was carefully considered. Adalberto supplied not only the fabrics, but also developed the special finnishings and prints using environmentally responsible techniques, reinforcing our commitment to textile innovation with purpose.

The uniforms will be unveiled in an artistic installation at the Portugal Pavilion on June 7–9, offering visitors an immersive look at the pieces and the collaborative process behind their creation.
